Uniform Requirements

During the registration period at Nationals, teams must bring their uniforms to be approved by NCVF. The uniform requirements are as follows:

USAV 4.3.3.1a: Uniform numbers must be clearly visible and centered on the chest and back. Each jersey must use the same color and number height for all players except the Libero. Numbers must contrast with the jersey that they are printed on.

USAV 4.3.3.1b:  Color combinations such as purple/black, dark grenn/black, navy/black, white/yellow or navy/maroon are not distinctive enough to comply with the rules.

USAV 4.3.3.2:  It is recommended that the numbers be a minimum of 15 cm (6″) in height on the chest and a minimum of 20 cm (8″) on the back.  The numbers must be a minimum of 10cm (4″) in height on the chest and a minimum of 15 cm (6″) in height on the back.  Teams that are purchasing new uniforms should go with the larger numbers

2. USAV 19.2a:  The Libero player’s jersey must contrast in color with that of the predominant colors of the jerseys of the other team members.  Color combinations such as purple/black, dark green/black, navy/maroon, and white/light yellow are not distinctive enough to comply with the rules.

If teams do not follow these regulations, they will not be able to play.

Fundraising for Nationals

Nothing is free in this world. The NCVF entry fee, for NCVF and USAV members, is $850, for NCVF members only is $900, and for non-members it is $1200. That’s only the entry fee, that cost does not include, hotels, airfare, and any other necessities. To raise money, teams fundraise throughout the year. Fundraising ideas range from bake sales, working athletic events, or asking for donations through a donation letter. The number of fundraising ideas is limitless but there is a deadline for the fees for Nationals. Teams must start fundraising as soon as their season starts. So go out and collect your money!

Ranking Tournaments

With so many teams planning to attend the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation tournament in April, the organization plans to use ranking tournaments to help rank the teams accordingly. It is expected that fifty more teams than last year will attend the tournament. If teams plan on competing in the top two divisions, they are advised to attend at least one ranking tournament. With such a high level of competition, the tournaments cost more than regular tournaments and certified officials will be used. These ranking tournaments will be the true test for teams.
