Q: How do you join the rugby team at Towson University?
A: Show up to practice, which are Tuesday-Thursday, 3:30-6 at Newell Field. Bring your OneCare, cleats, and sign a liability form.

 

 

Q: What is the best way to get into the sport of rugby?
A: Throw yourself right into it. Immerse yourself in the sport and do not be afraid to learn.

Q: What are the rules of rugby?
A: You can only throw the ball backwards. You may only move the ball forward by running or kicking it. You score a try, which is similar to a touchdown. To score a try you must physically touch the ball to the ground. A try is worth 5 points.

Q: How many players are on the field at a time?
A: 15 players on each side. 8 forwards, and 7 backs.

Q: How do you keep score?
A: A try is worth 5 points. A conversion is worth 2 points.
Q: What is the best way to train for rugby?
A: Cross training is ideal. One must be able to run long distance and sprint, as well.
